Where the g-save seems to lead is that it doesn't require any thing clever of the boiler itself, and it also works for your hot water as well as your central heating. What it does, from what I can gather, is use a series of timers to control the boiler and at the same time monitor the heat already in the system; so the boiler only fires up when absolutely necessary and only for as long as genuinely needed; simple!

I recently had one of your g-save boiler economisers fitted to my boiler, and I monitored the gas meter readings for a week without the device, and for another week with the device connected.
I am pleased to be able to report that the weekly usage dropped from 30 cubic meters of gas to 23 cubic meters with the g-save connected, which represents a saving of 23.3%.
Ours is quite an old Baxi boiler with hot water priority, so the g-save is only operating on the central heating circuit. I am sure that even greater savings can be achieved on a more modern system with the g-save operating on the hot water circuit as well.
I would recommend anyone with a gas boiler to get a g-save; it will pay for itself in the first year or so, and go on saving money year after year.
