Landlord Fire Safety Risk Assessments

Landlords - do your properties comply with the current fire safety regulations?

As a residential landlord, you have a general duty to keep your tenant's home fit for them to live in and ensure that it doesn't endanger their health. This includes ensuring there are no fire hazards in the property.

At gas-elec group we have inspectors available who are fully trained and certified Fire Safety Risk Assessors. They will visit the property in order to identify any fire hazards, decide on any action that needs to be taken and produce a written assessment.

The fire home safety check includes:

  • Identifying your domestic fire hazards
  • Evaluating and reducing your home fire risks
  • Determining if your existing fire precautions are adequate
  • Recording the findings
  • Drawing up your emergency plan
  • Producing a written Home Fire Risk Assessment

The gas-elec group Fire Safety Risk Assessors will work with you the Landlord, to ensure your property is safe for your tenants to move in. Our Fire Safety Risk Assessor will check the following:

  • The provision of domestic fire detectors and alarms
  • The maintenance and testing of your fire alarms
  • Adequate escape route and exit is readily available

Fire risk assessments are a systematic identification of all fire related hazards within a Landlords premises and are designed to analyse how those hazards may adversely affect the building and its occupants. It should identify the level of risk that those hazards may present, and also identify suitable control measures for any significant risks.
