Case Study: For want of a washer the boiler was lost…
Down on the south coast, engineer Morris Hemmings came across this staggering example of the power of water! When he removed the front cover of the boiler the top sprang open. A long-term water leak had rusted the top of the boiler compartment. The supply had to be capped off because the boiler was destroyed and had to be replaced.
"Regular servicing would have picked up this problem earlier" said Morris, "and it would have cost the price of a new washer instead of a complete boiler."
And the tenant probably was not best pleased either!
